FLORIDA REPUBLICAN PRIMARY TODAY!
Don't forget today is the Republican Presidential Primary....If you are registered Republican, please take the time to go to the polls and vote if you have not already!
Voting hours: Polls are open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Anyone in line by 7 p.m. may vote. Lines are usually longest from 7 to 9 a.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. If the line is long, do not go to another precinct. Voting in your precinct is the only option.
Who can vote: Only registered Republicans can vote in the presidential preference primary.
Where to vote: Precincts are listed on voter information cards. The Levy County Supervisor of Elections office has polling place locators on its Web site.
Identification: Voters need photo identification that includes a signature. A driver's license is best. Other forms of ID are accepted, but a license is the one that poll workers can process most quickly. Besides state-issued driver's licenses or ID cards, other accepted forms include passports, military, student, public assistance or neighborhood association IDs, and debit or credit cards. If the photo ID does not contain the voter's signature, another ID with a signature is required.
Marking your ballot: Mark the ballot exactly the way the instructions specify. If you don't, it might not scan correctly. If you make a mistake, ask for a replacement ballot. Once your paper ballot goes into the scanner, it's too late to make changes.
Absentee ballots: Must be returned to the Supervisor of Elections Office headquarters by 7 p.m. today.
A voter who received an absentee ballot and then chooses to vote in person can cast a regular ballot at the polling place. The system works faster for voters if people changing their minds bring the absentee ballot to the precinct, where it can be canceled.
